Wit Dating ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Wit mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.
- User Content: Messages, text, or screenshots you submit for analysis within the App. This content is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers after the session ends.
- Profile Preferences: Your selected coaching personality and app preferences.
- Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email, and the content of your message.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including features used, session duration, and frequency of use.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Log Data: IP address, access times, and crash reports for diagnostic purposes.
1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect precise geolocation data.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, or files beyond what you explicitly upload for analysis.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- We do not store the content of messages you submit for AI analysis after processing is complete.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- Process your AI coaching requests and deliver personalized responses.
- Manage your account and provide customer support.
- Send you service-related communications (e.g., account verification, updates, security alerts).
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the user experience.
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or fraud.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Third-Party Services
3.1 AI Processing — Anthropic (Claude AI)
The App uses Anthropic's Claude AI to process your coaching requests. Before any data is sent, the App requests your explicit consent.
What data is sent to Anthropic:
- The text of messages you paste or type into the App for analysis.
- Text extracted from screenshots you upload (via on-device OCR).
- Your selected coaching preferences (personality, goal, platform) to personalize responses.
What data is NOT sent to Anthropic:
- Your name, email address, or account credentials.
- Your photos or screenshots (only the extracted text is sent).
- Your usage history, device information, or any other personal data.
How the data is transmitted and used:
- All data is transmitted securely via encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) through our server (Firebase Cloud Functions), which acts as a proxy. Your data does not go directly from your device to Anthropic.
- The data is used solely for generating your coaching response in real time.
- The data is not retained by our server or by Anthropic after the response is delivered.
- Anthropic does not use your data to train AI models, per their data processing terms.

3.2 Authentication Services
We may use third-party authentication providers (e.g., Apple Sign-In) to facilitate account creation. These services may collect information as described in their respective privacy policies.
3.3 Payment Processing
All subscription payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not directly collect or store your payment card information. Payment processing is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
3.4 Analytics
We may use analytics services to help us understand App usage. These services may collect information sent by your device, including usage data and device information. Analytics data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
4. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion at any time.
- AI Session Data: Messages and screenshots submitted for analysis are processed in real time and are not retained after the response is delivered.
- Usage Analytics: Aggregated usage data may be retained for up to 24 months for product improvement purposes.
- Support Communications: Retained for up to 12 months after resolution.
Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL).
- Secure storage of account credentials.
- Regular security assessments.
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.

If you are located in the EEA, we process your data under the following legal bases: performance of a contract, legitimate interest, and consent. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 17, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
